Deion + Nike Reuniting?
Coach Prime made a splash with the Sold Out Colorado Spring Game.
As I predicted a while back, I think the two powers reunite to their rightful place in the Sports Marketing world- together.
Under Armour looks to be divesting from football and now that Deion is at a Nike school, I think he figures out a way to play nice.
After all, Coach Prime who coined the phrase:
“If you look good, you feel good. If you feel good, you play good. If you play good, they pay good.”
Ultimately, Nike can help him get better product & better product gets better recruits & better recruits get better results-the name of the game in College Football.
His equipment manager at Colorado is a former Nike guy, so they’ve already been laying the ground work…
Deion rolled out to the spring game in a mashup of his DT MAX upper with a Invincible Zoom X foam midsole- the latter likely to accommodate his ailing foot. Turns out if you Play Nice, you can Feel Good too.
This is a special make up shoe from Nike to Deion, so it seems the two parties are more than cordial. This is quite a different tune as Deion has been resistant to Nike ever since they wouldn’t pay him what he thought he was worth. His loyalty and promotion to UA has been there for a long time. A beneficial partnership for both sides, until now.
UA can’t Protect That [struggling] House forever!
This partnership will be fun if it comes to fruition. A DT Max in Colorado colors is a no brainer after the brand retro’d it last season through Kyler Murray.
We’re now one step closer.
